Just Like David

Do you remember when you first learned how to ride a bike? I remember it like it was just yesterday. For a while, just like any other beginning rider, I used training wheels to learn to ride. One day my father went and took them off my bike, though. It was time for me to learn to ride bike like a real man. My dad said that it would be hard and I would probably fall the first couple of times that I tried. This couldn't have been more true. I just kept falling and falling. Every time I fell, though, my dad was there to help me up and encourage me to keep on going. After a while of trying and falling, I just wanted to give up, but my dad just kept pushing me and helped me learn. After many tries and many hard falls, I was riding like the best of them. This is all because I never gave up and my dad never gave up on me. You see, God is the same way. Just like when I kept falling and my dad was there to help me up, we can fall spiritually and our heavenly father will help us up. So many times we do things to dissapoint God. Even if we don't want to, we do it without even thinking about it. None of us on this earth are perfect. We can all stumble and fall with our walk with God. Every time we fall, though, God is there to help us get back on our feet and try again. Many times we may want to give up because it may seem too hard. Just like learning to ride your bike is difficult, living a christian life may be difficult at times also. God never promised us that living a christian life would be easy. God does, however, promise us that he will always be there through all of our good times and all of our bad times. Just like riding a bike, if we don't give up and we keep our mind set on that goal of finally riding without training wheels, we will succeed. The same is true with God. If we keep our minds set on that goal to live for Him and one day live with Him in heaven for all eternity, we will succeed. Just like my father never gave up on me, our heavenly father, God, will never give up on any of us. Don't give up on Him. If you would like to have a personal relationship with God and spend eternity in heaven with Him some day, just pray these things to God:

- Thank Jesus for dying on the cross for you.
- Admit that you're a sinner and that you need to be saved by
Jesus Christ.
- Confess your sins to God.
- Turn to God and away from sin.
- Ask Jesus to come into your life and save you by His grace.
- Let Jesus guide you throughout your life.

One day we will all be judged before God and our sentence of life or death will be ruled out. Don't wait any longer to give your life to Christ. You don't know how much longer you have on this earth.
