THE
DARK KNIGHT PREMIERE
I
just wanted to take a moment say thanks to all of the Bat-fans that came out
to see us Monday night at The Dark Knight world premiere in NYC.
Of course, for us, it was a bittersweet night with the absense of our friends
and colleagues Heath Ledger and special effects technician -- Conway Wickliffe.
But in a nutshell... fantastic celebrity guests, segments of the film's score performed live by an orchestra led by composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, film presentation in IMAX, an incredible after party at Mandarin Oriental... AND thousands of amazing fans. In fact, so many fans that traffic was at a halt... and I nearly didn't make my train home in time. :o)
At some point, one of our publicists should be sending over a photo package of the evening that I can share with you all.
THE DARK KNIGHT opens in theatres and IMAX Friday!

EARLY
EDITION... FINALLY ON DVD!
After
spending years as an on-again/off-again actor who at times also worked behind
the camera, Kevin launched his production company -- Flashpoint Studios in
1996. While editing the entertainment fanzine and website CinemaEdge that
he had launched two years earlier AND producing corporate videos through his
new company, he soon developed a tight relationship with CBS that quickly
boosted his career in a way he didn't expect.
Kevin's first major network television show would be EARLY EDITION. He was brought on as a project consultant... and by accident, also became a sort of liaison to the fans -- something that would happen again and again on future projects.
Early Edition is the hour-long drama about Chicago native Gary Hobson who becomes a reluctant hero when his morning newspaper reports tomorrow's headlines. Commodities trader Hobson (Kyle Chandler) is losing it: his job, his home, and his brilliant attorney wife. He thinks he may even be losing his mind when tomorrow's newspaper mysteriously arrives today giving him a disconcerting look into the future. What will he do with tomorrow's news? While his best friend Chuck (Fisher Stevens) sees the newspaper as a ticket to personal gain co-worker Marissa (Shanesia Davis) convinces Gary that the early edition should be used to better peoples lives. So each day Gary begins anew the struggle to make sense of a world turned upside-down by the changing course of events that come from reading the early edition.

TRANSFORMERS
2 ROLLS ON!
As
we've now moved production of Transformers 2 on to New Jersey, I
just wanted to take a moment to thank the many TF fans that stopped
by to greet our cast and crew during our shoots in my home state of Pennsylvania
the last few weeks. In fact, I was just on-set last week in Philadelphia.
The Philly folks were so incredibly kind... coming up and saying, "Hi!".
I will mention one thing, though... and with a grin on my face. I know there were also many bloggers there trying to figure things out... to the point of wanting ruin the movie for themselves and others. All I will say is... don't believe everything you see or read. Michael Bay is a clever and cunning man and he will stop at nothing to throw you off the scent... even if that means setting up fake and elaborate scenes to shoot... or having vehicles on-set that don't really belong there... or in the movie, or even leaking call sheets and other literature just to keep you guessing.
It was a great time, though. And I never in a million years thought that when I made the suggestion to shoot near my hometown of Ephrata, PA, that we'd actually be shooting in PA at all.
Thanks again Philly!
Cheers,
Kevin

MESSAGE FROM KEVIN: IN MEMORIAM... HEATH LEDGER
As you
likely know by now, our Flashpoint friend and colleague — Heath Ledger
passed away on Tuesday. And as I now look at the possibility of heading out
to Los Angeles for one of his memorial services, I just wanted to take a moment
to thank the many of you that have had kind words to say about this warm and
talented young man. We'll be sure to pass along these messages to his family.
Like
all of his family, friends, colleagues, and fans, we've been deeply shocked
and saddened by this sudden loss. Days later... and it still doesn't seem
quite real to me. For a number of months, my small group had the good fortune
to work with him on the upcoming film, The Dark Knight. I spent time
in conference with him... while my assistant, Michelle, took my place on-set
in Chicago.
Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

Kevin

A MESSAGE FROM KEVIN...

Whose Line? Fans!!!
Once again, I'm back consulting with WHV (Warner Home Video) on the release of volume two [of season one]... something that wouldn't have been possible without the support of all of you... the fans of the show. I love your passion for this series. I share it. You bought-up copies of volume one, dropped us e-mails, send letters to WHV, post banners on your personal websites and MySpace pages, leave messages on the boards at WatchWhoseLine.com, utilize resources from our friends at Whose-Line.com, and continue to vote at TVShowsOnDVD.com. That's terrific! Keep doing it. All of this helps when lobbying for... and later, working on future editions. WHV looks very closely at all of these elements and we also listen to what you have to say and push for the most requested features. At the end of the day, this is YOUR show. Never have the fans been more involved as they have been for this show and these DVDs. And I'm thrilled to continue on with the series in this manner to work with both the fans and the studio on these and future Whose Line? DVD releases.
Enjoy season one/volume two! We're hoping to see season two a bit quicker. Thanks again.

STUDIO 60 PREMIERES TONIGHT
AT 10/9C ON NBC!
FROM KEVIN:
Dear
Friends-
First, I'd like to thank the many of you that have sent me very kind messages congratulating myself, the cast, and crew of '24' on our Emmy win. Between the 200 or so of us among the cast and crew, I'm very proud to be a .5% Emmy award winner on this amazing series. Wait 'til you see what we have in store for you in season six.
Now... from one terrific show to another.
I appreciate this opportunity to invite you to tune in to Monday's premiere of my latest part-time project, 'Studio 60'. I'm very excited about this new series. A dramedy is something very different for me...
Behind every great comedy, there’s drama.
Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) takes us behind the scenes of a fictional late-night sketch comedy series. Lately, “funny” has been in short supply at Studio 60. The executive producer just had a meltdown – on live TV. The control room is out of control. The actors are acting up. And that’s just last Friday’s show! Studio 60’s only hope lies with two wunderkind writers (Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford) with troubles of their own, and the headstrong new network president (Amanda Peet) determined to turn things around.
HERE'S
WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING:
"You really can't beat Studio 60..."-Entertainment Weekly
"At the top of this season's must-watch list....Boasts a great cast - led by Bradley Whitford and Matthew Perry as a writer-director team - and a sparkling pilot. If it gets seen, it'll get embraced." - New York Daily News
"...So good..." - The Charlotte Observer
"Buzz is it's the best show this fall." - Toronto Sun
"No new series has a stronger cast." - San Jose Mercury News
"The most anticipated new show for this coming season." - The Sacramento Bee
"As good as everyone says it is.... In a season that has more good shows than in recent years... Studio 60 still stands out." - Columbus Dispatch
"The fall's most-talked-about new show." - MSNBC

A
MESSAGE FROM KEVIN:
Friends-
Hi there! I hope all is well. Many of you have written to me about a rumor
regarding new information on a possible DVD release of Whose Line is it Anyway?...
a rumor that had hit the web about a week ago. I'm sorry that I've been unavailable
to comment on it until now. At the time, that information had been leaked
a bit prematurely.
It does give me great pleasure to confirm though that Whose Line is it Anyway?
is indeed finally coming to DVD. YOUR persistence is paying off. If it wouldn't
have been for all of you doing what you were doing out there, I wouldn't have
had the ammo I needed to do what I was doing on the inside. You should all
be very proud.
So, where do we stand? Well, it's very early. It's in the works but there
are no specific plans. It's certainly not a time to be complacent. I still
would recommend that everyone continue with the postcards, petitions, e-mails,
etc. Act is if nothing has changed. If Warner Home Video begins to detect
a lack of interest, they won't hesitate to move in a different direction.
Some of you have also asked whether or not I'll be consulting on the DVD as
well. You bet. As a matter of fact, we discussed a few things Monday. Additionally,
we've set up a suggestion e-box. We want to know what you think regarding
all aspects of this DVD release. We'll continue to collect your suggestions
and will consider what you want the most as we consult with WHV in the coming
months. Please send your suggestions to: dvd@watchwhoseline.com
Thank you as always for your interest and support. Take care.
Regards-
Kevin

Yes, it's
true, this is the final season for Alias. As many of you have heard
(or speculated) for months now and today was finally confirmed, Alias
will air it's final mission in May. Kevin and his colleagues plan to flesh-out
the remainder of the season in such a way that it will build up to a satisfying
conclusion, one deserving of this amazing drama and it's brilliant cast and
crew.

A
MESSAGE FROM KEVIN:
As some of you might have heard, a friend and colleague of Flashpoint
Studios, Michael Piller, died yesterday -- November 1, after a long battle
with head and neck cancer. He was 57. You may know Michael (or at least have
seen his name in the credits) as a brilliant writer on Star Trek:
The Next Generation or as the co-creator/co-producer of Star
Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and ABC
Family's Wildfire or as the writer of the ninth Star Trek
feature film, Star Trek: Insurrection (my personal favorite
of the Next Gen films). I, of course, will remember him fondly as the co-creator/co-producer
of a fantastic series that I've worked on for the last four seasons, The
Dead Zone.

As previously
mentioned, in November ABC Family is airing two original never-before-seen
episodes of the Emmy-nominated series Whose Line is it Anyway?
on Monday, November 7 (9/8C) and Monday, November 21 (9/8C). Here's a glimpse
at what's to come in the weeks ahead:
Monday, Nov. 7th – In Party Quirks, Greg hosts a party for a daredevil
motocycle guy (Wayne), a man evolving from primordial ooze into a man (Colin)
and Ryan who is acting like Rocky. Episode stars Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie,
Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops. Drew Carey hosts.
Monday,
Nov. 21st – On Let’s Make a Date, Kathy has to choose between
E.T.’s manic frat boy brother who has come to Earth to party (Wayne),
a nervous first time flier using an airplane restroom when a violent storm
hits (Colin), and a talking fierce bald eagle hatching her egg and preparing
him for life outside the nest (Ryan). Episode stars Wayne Brady, Colin
Mochrie, Ryan Stiles and Kathy Greenwood. Drew Carey hosts.
FYI... Whose Line? began airing on ABC Family in January
of 2002 and for the recently completed 2004/2005 season, weekday airings delivered
more than one million total viewers.

Family... part of a three-hour 'Whose Line?' block beginning at 8/7C. Tonight's
new episode is just the first of 21 new installments that you'll have to look
forward to this season. Here's a glimpse at what's to come in the weeks ahead:

Monday, Oct. 17th – While Godzilla is attacking Manhattan, Brad, Patrick,

Episode stars Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, Patrick Bristow and Brad Sherwood.
Drew Carey hosts.
Kevin passes along his sincere thanks, on behalf of the cast and crew, to
the loyal fans that watch and support 'Whose Line?'. To him, it makes all
of the work on the show and the lobbying over the years for more episodes
and [possibly] DVDs all the more worthwhile. He's certain you'll enjoy watching
this new batch of episodes as much as everyone enjoyed making them.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE
FROM KEVIN:
I would like to pass along my condolences to our friends in London
effected by this week's terrorist bombings. During good times and bad we've
had no better friend in this world than England. On September 11, 2001 it
was England that stuck with us after our terrible day and backed us during
the controversial war that has followed when much of the rest of the world
looked the other way.
Let's now keep them in our thoughts and prayers during their difficult time.
