HIS STORY:
Born May 24, 1975 in Ephrata (click here
for a live view from atop of local newspaper, The
Ephrata Review), Pennsylvania... like many people, Kevin's childhood had
it's share of ups and downs. He didn't come from a wealthy background and living
in a single parent environment for most of his young life, it was always a challenge
for his mother to keep food on the table and a roof over his head. He suffered
major blows while still very young... his parents divorced (at age 5), his first
stepfather (Evan Weinhold) died (at age 11), and he lost a close childhood friend,
Kirsten Shelley (at age 13). What kept him going? Many things. He had a love
of science, electronics, and robotics. 'The Transformers' made a huge impact
on him. For a long time he thought about a career in science and/or robotics.
But he had another love... television and movies. Sort of by accident, he first
appeared in the regionally syndicated, short-lived tv show 'Parent and Child'
in 1982. In 1989 he starred in the direct-to-video release of 'Score More Points
Nintendo Blue'. Then, in 1992, in one of his favorite projects, he appeared
in a limited run of 'Disney's Aladdin - The Musical' -- a musical in which he
performed as the Genie (showcasing his singing and voice talents). He was also
the understudy for the character of Aladdin.
These days... Kevin works for Blue
Ridge Communications by day and runs Flashpoint
Studios, an audio/video production, consulting, and marketing company by
night. To date, through Flashpoint, he's been a project consultant on nearly
seventy television series, films, video games, and more. In 1994 he started
CinemaEdge, which was originally an entertainment news print publication that
made it's debut on the web in 1996. In 2001 it again changed from an infotainment
website to an entertainment store. Then, in 2003 CinemaEdge.com
became part of Amazon.com. On the web, Kevin also has his hand in other ventures.
His company helped launch Elton John's website back in 2000. He's consulted
and marketed tech companies like Dell and Sony. What he's most known for though
(outside of all of his crazy voices) is his film and television projects. He's
worked on 'Gargoyles', 'Whose Line is it Anyway?', 'Batman Beyond', 'The Whole
Nine Yards', 'Band of Brothers', '24', 'Alias', 'Signs', 'Pirates of the Caribbean:
The Curse of the Black Pearl', 'The Polar Express', 'Transformers' (2007), and
many, many more. He's even done voiceover work for USA Network promos for 'The
Dead Zone'. He also co-produced the band Just Like David and helped launch the
musical career of actress-friend, Jenna von Oy (Six, Blossom). KC can
also be found raising money for his charity, the Flashpoint
Fund. Money raised through the Flashpoint Fund benefits the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society and the ASPCA.
He's also the spokesperson for Share
the Wealth, a non-profit that feeds hungry families in surrounding areas
of his hometown of Ephrata, Pennsylvania.
When he's not working, Kevin likes to either relax or spend time with friends.
